Getting your child’s seat checked takes just minutes. It’s a great chance for parents and carers to consult with experts to ensure their children travel safely.
Trained staff will examine the installation and safety of the seats. They will also provide guidance and make adjustments in a friendly, supportive environment.
No appointment is needed. Anyone who wants to benefit just needs to show up at one of the events across the county.
These events are organised by the West Yorkshire Vision Zero Partnership and run by Good Egg Safety CIC.
Children must use a child car seat until they are 12 years old or 135 centimetres tall, whichever comes first.
Over 60% of child car seats were found to be incorrectly fitted at check events in West Yorkshire in 2024.
Out of 763 seats inspected across 25 events last summer, only 280 were deemed safe.
