Course overview

The course is suitable for anyone with a passion to work in Early Education giving children the best start in life. Whether you have previous experience of working with young children, are looking for a career change or beginning your career journey, the Skills Bootcamp in Early Years will provide a firm foundation to move onto paid employment in the sector.

Course units include:

Understanding the key principles of safeguarding and child protection.
Recognising the value of play in Early Years and its impact on learning.
Understanding the Early Years Foundation Stage statutory framework.
Fostering personal, social and emotional development in young children.
Developing children’s early maths & literacy skills.
Supporting speech, language and communication in young children.
Meeting the needs of all children, including those with SEND.

What next?

On completion of the course, you could gain employment in a primary school, nursery or preschool, out of school club or become a childminder. Whether you’re looking for part-time or full-time employment or an apprenticeship, the Skills Bootcamp in Early Years will help launch your career in Early Years.
