Delivered within Kirklees College Construction Hub, you will have the opportunity to develop the theory that will be introduced in the classroom environment and will be embedded throughout the underpinning knowledge of different subjects in the Construction industry including Groundworks or Heritage & Preservation.
During the Bootcamp, you’ll cover key topics such as:
You will gain practical skills for working on heritage properties which will introduce you to a range of trade occupations within the heritage construction industry. We will tailor the course to your individual needs but will include a focus on practicality and function of good traditional building skills and materials, stonemasonry principles, different types of stonework (rubble stone, ashlar, etc.) mortar choice, working stone by hand and matching existing finishes.
Delivered within Kirklees College Construction Hub at Springfield Sixth Form Centre, you will have the opportunity to develop the theory that will be introduced in the classroom environment and will be embedded throughout the underpinning knowledge of installing kerbs, drainage, laying paving slabs and concrete finish etc. The course will be delivered over four weeks. You will also complete a Level 1 Award in Progression.
On completion of the course, progression may be to gain employment within the construction industry sector.
