We want to make buses one of the first choices for travel in West Yorkshire. To achieve this, we are building a better bus service for everyone in our region with our new Weaver Network.

Buses offer an affordable, sustainable and convenient way to travel. A publicly-owned bus service that works for people, not profit, will help to form a new joined-up Weaver Network that connects bus, train, bike, walking, wheeling and future transport modes too.

To encourage the people of West Yorkshire to use buses, we must make improvements. That’s why we have launched the West Yorkshire Bus Strategy 2040. This plan outlines major steps to enhance the 2.3 million journeys made every week, for everyone.

Metro

Until our franchising scheme is rolled out in 2027, we’re making wide-scale improvements to the current Metro system. Because everyone in West Yorkshire deserves to use a bus system that just works.
