We currently have a vacancy for a Corporate Service Lead to join our Legal, Governance and Compliance Service.
The in-house Legal, Governance & Compliance Service forms an important part in the process to enable the delivery of projects within a clear governance framework.
Working directly to the Assistant Director Legal, Governance & Compliance, the Corporate Service Lead is responsible for advising the Authority on all corporate, regulatory and governance matters. In addition, the role will act as the lead legal advisor to the Mayor and Deputy Mayor for Policing & Crime in respect of police and crime functions and will and act as the training principal for trainee solicitors. Personally, and through the management of the Legal Governance and Regulatory team, the Service Lead will enable the organisation to operate effectively within the appropriate governance and assurance framework, providing the necessary legal oversight and guidance, working collaboratively with a ‘whole system’ approach. The team provides legal advice across all regulatory aspects including employment, insurance, debt/ claims and information governance together with leading on any litigation matters.
