We currently have a vacancy for a Policy Assistant (Spatial Planning and Strategic Sites) to join our Place and Environment Policy team.
We are looking for a spatial planner to work in the Spatial Planning and Strategic Sites Team in the development and implementation of placed based approaches to regional policy and strategies and with identifying a pipeline of strategic sites and regeneration schemes that contribute to the delivery of the West Yorkshire Plan. Your role will be to support the development of spatial policy approaches undertaking research and analysis and project managing work streams. You will also monitor and respond to planning applications and local / national planning policy to ensure the CA’s objectives are realised and funding for local transport interventions is maximised.
The Place and Environment Policy Team form part of the Combined Authority’s Policing, Environment and Place Directorate.
The focus of the wider place and environment team is policy and programme development to support sustainable growth and resilience across the region. Our activity aims to accelerate delivery and improve the quality of infrastructure and place making activities including transport, housing, employment sites, net zero and energy, climate resilience and environment, and urban design. Our activity supports a cross-boundary and cross-policy approach to infrastructure planning and delivery, seeking opportunities for cost and efficiency savings.
