Personal data is information about a living person that means we can work out who they are. When we collect your personal data, West Yorkshire Combined Authority is what is known as the ‘data controller’.
As the data controller, we will:
Only keep your data that we need to provide services you have requested and do what the law says we must
Keep your data safe and accurate
Only keep your data as long as we have to
Collect, store and use your data in a way which does not break any data protection laws
The purpose for collecting your personal data is to better understand current travel behaviours, identify any barriers to travel created by the weekday off‑peak restriction, and assess the impact of allowing free pre‑09:30 travel for Disabled ENCTS and Companion Pass holders. This work forms part of our ‘public task’, which means we are carrying out one of our official functions as a Combined Authority.
Personal data processed for this project includes:
Name and email address (to contact you)
Postcode, age range, gender, opinions, travel habits, employment status, racial or ethnic origin, health or disability data (to inform the research)
West Yorkshire Combined Authority does not intend to share personal data we collect for this survey with any other organisation. There are some rare circumstances where we would share data (e.g. if we received a court order) and these are covered in the main ENCTS travel pass privacy notice.
We will keep the personal data collected for this project until May 2028, at which time it will be securely destroyed.
If you would like to know more about West Yorkshire Combined Authority’s corporate privacy notice, which includes further information about your rights under the UK GDPR and how to contact the Data Protection Officer, please read our privacy notice page.
