Mayor of West Yorkshire Tracy Brabin responds to the Chancellor's speech on economic growth

Mayor of West Yorkshire Tracy Brabin said:

"This Chancellor understands Mayors are crucial to growing the economy.

"Our West Yorkshire Growth Plan will create more jobs and put more money into people's pockets. Fundamental to its success is having the right infrastructure to enable people to access opportunities and give businesses the workforce they need to succeed.

"The Chancellor’s support for Mass Transit is welcome and will help us grow our region’s economy, drive regeneration and open up development.

"Together with Government we will bring trams back to the streets of Leeds and Bradford, building the vibrant, well-connected communities we need and deserve."
