Five 'You Decide' events will be held over the next fortnight where members of the public will be able to vote on how £500,000 from the People's Fund will be spent on tackling serious violence across West Yorkshire.

Members of the public are set to cast their votes on which projects will get a share of half a million pounds to tackle serious violence.
Mayor of West Yorkshire Tracy Brabin unveiled her ‘People’s Fund’ earlier this year, making up to £100,000 available for each of the county’s five districts.
Now, local groups and organisations will pitch their ideas to communities in a special series of ‘You Decide’ events.
Those projects receiving the most votes on the night will see funding of up to £10,000 to deliver their plans.
The events are for people in the area they live in and you can sign up online.
Each will run from 5.45-9pm and will be held at:
Tracy Brabin, Mayor of West Yorkshire, said:
“Our People’s Fund is giving local communities the resources they need to turn their ideas into action.
“We want people to have their say on what will make their community safer so I'm urging you all to come down and get involved.
“As we invest this money recovered from criminals back into our communities, we can prevent more lives being lost to the scourge of serious violence.”
All submissions will address serious violence, whether that’s knife crime, gangs, organised crime or violence against women and girls.
It comes ahead of the launch of a co-produced ‘People’s Plan’ on serious violence, shaped by five thousand responses to a public consultation.
