Responding to the new legislation, Tracy Brabin, Mayor of West Yorkshire said:

Great British Railways will create a simple and reliable rail network that gets people to where they’re going on time and at a reasonable price. This is a huge step for Britain’s public transport network, and will drive growth in our economy.

The Railways Bill means money will be reinvested into the network with more reliable services and cheaper fares that will benefit us all. Importantly handing more power to mayors means we can work with Great British Railways to deliver what's best for our areas.

With our integrated Weaver Network, we will ensure all of our modes of transport link together to create a better connected West Yorkshire that works for all.
