A653 Leeds to Dewsbury Corridor
This scheme for the A653 corridor from Dewsbury into Leeds will see capacity enhancement measures to reduce congestion at 'hot spot' junctions along with public transport improvement such as the introduction of a limited stop bus service between Dewsbury and Leeds, and improved cycling facilities between Mirfield and Leeds.
Reduced and more reliable journey times will help support job retention and growth along the corridor as well as improved local air quality though reduced CO2 emissions.
