Role details

Due to the substantive postholder securing a development opportunity within the HR team, we are seeking applications for a HR Support Officer to join our Human Resources team on a fixed term contract basis for up to two years.

If you recently applied for HR Support Officer (JR-999), you do not need to submit a further application for this vacancy. Applications for both roles will be considered together. Shortlisted candidates will be given the opportunity to indicate their preferred role at interview.

The Human Resources (HR) team supports staff and managers with a broad spectrum of people-related issues. As our HR Support Officer, you will provide recruitment and administrative operations support to outcome directorates, contribute to policy and process improvement and ensure compliance with internal policy and legislative requirements.

You will be highly organised with excellent attention to detail and work collaboratively with colleagues across the Combined Authority. With an ability to build positive relationships and deliver excellent customer service, you will also be able to work confidently with databases and systems to support the wider HR team. This is an excellent opportunity to start or develop a career in HR while working in an incredibly supportive and flexible environment.

Visit our Life at the West Yorkshire Combined Authority to find out what our staff have to say about working here. You can even meet some of the HR team here.

Please note, interviews are expected to take place on Friday 4 September, in person at Wellington House, Leeds.

It is important that you demonstrate how your breadth of experience, knowledge and skills align with the role when applying. We have therefore created comprehensive guidance for candidates, and you are strongly urged to read this before completing your application form. Please visit our Advice for Candidates webpage to find this guidance and further support in completing your application form.
