The Digital and Technology Services (DTS) team helps keep the Combined Authority running smoothly and supports colleagues with the tools and systems they need.
On this page, you’ll hear from team members about their experiences and what they like most about working at West Yorkshire Combined Authority.
Marc is one of our DTS Service Desk 2nd Line Analysts.
In this video he talks to us about how much he enjoys his role.
I joined the Combined Authority in 2017 as an ICT Service Desk Coordinator, managing the service desk team in a job share role. I moved from a private organisation into the public sector as I was looking for a part time role as a working mum.
The flexible working hours and hybrid working has allowed me to develop my career, progress into a full-time role and has helped me establish a good home and work life balance.
The DTS department offers a wide variety of services, and I am currently developing our processes and procedures using the ITIL framework to enhance our DTS service quality and align our DTS operations with business objectives.
Working for West Yorkshire Combined Authority service desk has been a great test of my skills. Building devices, problem solving and managing requests has honed my ability to balance my work load.
With an exceptional team and great comradery, issues can be shared to the group to help them get solved quickly and have knowledge shared to each other. We easily keep ourselves motivated with shared interests within and out of work that strengthen our teamwork.
I've worked for several IT Service Operations organisations and the level of ITIL maturity for an organisation for this size is excellent.
There are different challenges every day and lots of opportunity to develop new skills, but what I value the most at the Combined Authority is the culture. The people are genuine, kind and helpful. Everyone works together
