The West Yorkshire Police and Crime Plan 2024–28 is a statutory plan that sets out how the Mayor and Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime will work with West Yorkshire Police and partners to reduce serious violence, tackle neighbourhood crime, support victims and improve the safety of women and girls across the region's five districts - so everyone feels safe, protected, and included.
Together, we’re tackling serious violence, supporting victims, and creating thriving, safer communities across our region.
Building on four years of progress, this plan sets three priorities for 2024–28, developed through extensive public consultation and safety analysis across all five districts.
We’ve all seen the devastating impact of knife crime in our communities. The Mayor pledged to make tackling serious violence a top priority. This plan is a step towards achieving that and supports the government’s mission to halve knife crime in the next decade.
