Healthy Working Life is West Yorkshire's plan to help more people find, stay and thrive in work, while supporting employers to create healthier, more inclusive workplaces. It brings together the West Yorkshire Combined Authority, the NHS West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board, local authorities and employers to tackle the health-related barriers that keep people out of work.
Many people in West Yorkshire face health-related barriers that make it hard to find or stay in work. At the same time, employers need support to recruit and retain a diverse workforce. The Healthy Working Life Plan sets out how partners will work together over the next five years to close this gap, joining up health, employment and skills support across the region.
Build a stable, joined-up system of support, align investment across partners, and reduce duplication for residents and employers.
Co-design employment support around individual needs, prioritise prevention, and align services with local Neighbourhood Health plans.
Help employers create inclusive workplaces through the Fair Work Charter and Disability Confident scheme, and strengthen the employer voice through the Local Skills Improvement Plan.
Employment West Yorkshire is the front door to employment support across the region, helping people access advice, training and job opportunities in Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees, Leeds and Wakefield.
