We currently have three vacancies for Inclusive Economy Managers to join our Employment and Skills team, focusing on policy development and implementation.
The devolution of adult skills funding to West Yorkshire Combined Authority in 2021 was a pivotal moment in the region’s devolution journey. With national government affirming the importance of employment and skills at the heart of its devolution agenda, Mayoral Strategic Authorities are gaining greater influence over employment and skills funding, policy and provision. New levers and devolved funding will enable the Combined Authority and partners to serve our residents and ensure everyone in West Yorkshire has the best opportunity to enter employment, education and/or training.
We are looking for three Inclusive Economy Managers to lead vital employment and skills policy work at this exciting time, developing and
implementing ambitious, evidence-led policy that supports our vision for West Yorkshire to be a Region of Learning and Creativity. Work areas for these roles will focus on the oversight of the development of policy positions and programme design related to skills policy and further devolution of education and skills funding and technical education, wider employment support devolution, with a focus on Work and Health and NEETs/youth unemployment.
