Northern College and Calderdale College have teamed up on Sector-based Work Academy Programmes (SWAPs) to train and recruit Learning Support Assistants for the education sector.
Also, Talented Training has partnered with JobCentre Plus to address the need for licenced workers in fields like warehousing, security and traintrack engineering.
Funded by the West Yorkshire Combined Authority's £65 million Adult Education Budget, these programmes give jobseekers crucial skills and a clear path to employment.
SWAPs offer tailored training and work experience for people on unemployment benefits. This helps them gain qualifications and practical experience, greatly improving their job prospects. Employers benefit too, as they have access to well-trained, job-ready candidates, making it easier to fill vacancies with skilled workers.
