Mayor's Safer Communities Fund

The Fund provides grants to voluntary groups, charities and local partners working to prevent crime and improve safety in our neighbourhoods.

Grant Round 10

Grant Round 10 of the Mayors Safer Communities Fund is now open, with £350,000 available.  Maximum grant for each organisation is up to £10,000.

It closes at midday on 3 July 2026.

The awards evening for this round will be held on 8 October 2026.

How can I apply? 

You can apply for a grant by completing the online application form. 

Successful bidders must attend the Safer Communities Fund awards night to receive their grant.

The Mayor’s fund is financed from monies recovered by West Yorkshire Police under the Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA). The Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 lets the police and prosecutors confiscate or recover the proceeds of crime from criminals. 

Grant Round 11

Grant round 11 of the Mayor's Safer Communities Fund opens on 9 November 2026 and closes at midday on 11 December 2026.

The awards evening for this round will be held on 8 April 2027.
