West Yorkshire Vision Zero is a road safety aim to eliminate all traffic fatalities and serious injuries. It supports safe, healthy and equitable mobility for all in the county.

We are committed to reducing the number of people killed and seriously injured (KSI) on our roads by 50% by 2030, and to zero by 2040.
The Vision Zero Strategy outlines how we will work to achieve this.
The West Yorkshire Vision Zero Strategy sets out the plan to eradicate all road deaths and serious injuries in the county by 2040. It advocates for the joint responsibility of all road users for safety, alongside all those who plan, design, build, maintain, legislate, and enforce the transport system.

The West Yorkshire Vision Zero Board provides leadership on these commitments. It is chaired by Alison Lowe, Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime.
The board oversees the West Yorkshire Safe Roads Partnership in delivering the Safe System approach for a safe, sustainable road environment. This supports active travel ambitions and improving access for all road users.

This section has information and support for people impacted by serious and fatal road traffic collisions. For the most serious and fatal collisions, the impact on victims, their families and friends, and the other people involved, is life changing. There are often practical, procedural, and emotional challenges to overcome, but advice and support is available to help.
