Child First Approach

Over 450 children have shared their views on a pioneering ‘Child First’ Framework for West Yorkshire, placing children at the heart of decision making.

It puts an emphasis on meaningful collaboration, whether this be through co-production, co-design, or consultation to ensure that our vision for the future aligns with our children’s.

This framework is for all professionals who make decisions that may impact the lives of children across the county, either directly or indirectly. This will involve everyone from executive officers to frontline workers.
